You say you want to make positive changes in your business, but you're not sure how to go about it. Are you tired of putting out fires? You're not alone! For many people, creating a vision for a successful company is difficult and often accompanied by self-doubt, conflicting emotions and confusion. This seminar gives participants a foundation for creating a vision and staying focused. Through several processes, both active and introspective, participants experience the power of vision and what it would be like to steer their businesses with a clear sense of purpose. You will learn how to access your emotional intelligence; remove obstacles holding you back; and gain practical knowledge you can apply immediately to create the success you want and deserve.

Coaching Works 2006 will showcase more than a dozen GPCA members who offer business/executive, career transition, and personal life/relationship coaching. Attendees are asked to choose a coach and the session time during which they can learn about the attributes and advantages of professional coaching and then experience a 25-minute, one-on-one coaching session.

As part of my planning for 2006, I thought it would be helpful to educate my readers about “professional coaching,” what it is and how it works. If you have ever thought about hiring a coach, the timing could not be better. Each new year gives us a fresh opportunity to do things differently and to create a different life, personally and/or professionally. To sweeten the deal for you, I am offering free, 30-minute coaching sessions (in person or on the phone) to those of you thinking about hiring a coach.

Start your year as you may never have before. Start with a plan!

  • What Is Coaching and Why Does It Work?
  • A fairly new profession, coaching is designed to assist individuals and companies in achieving their full potential. Coaching helps bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be by applying organizational development, psychology, business administration, and personal growth skills and techniques to your specific goals and objectives. Through a process of discovery, goal setting, and strategic action, individuals realize extraordinary results within a short period of time.

Because coaching provides a powerful, collaborative relationship, individuals are more willing to support themselves and keep their commitments. Coaches encourage clients to do more than they would do on their own and through a well- conceived, step-by-step process, clients learn to focus better and produce results more quickly.

    Who Benefits From Coaching?
Anyone can benefit from coaching! The most common reason people or companies hire a coach is the desire to grow productively – a desire often sparked by crisis. Most clients find they pursue their goals more successfully working with a coach. Clear Intentions will help you become more effective, support you in reaching your goals by working with you to identify and clear those issues, circumstances and patterns of belief and behavior that hold you back. This ongoing process creates a powerful momentum, one that ripples through all aspects of your professional and personal life.

    Coaching can help you to:
    * Manifest your personal and professional visions, goals, or dreams
    * Clarify your goals & create a step-by-step plan
    * Effectively organize your day-to-day activities
    * Learn how to make sound decisions
    * Set priorities and maintain them
    * Quickly remove energy drains and re-energize yourself on a consistent basis
    * Learn how to motivate your employees
    * Provide clarity, focus and leadership for growth and/or transition
    * Replace outdated behaviors with effective actions

What Happens When You Work with a Coach?
Coaching is proven to work when two factors are present, a person or company is willing to grow, and a person or company experiences a gap between where they are now and where they want to be.

That is what’s necessary for you and your coach to solve problems, create a plan of action, double sales, become more profitable, set yourself on a career path or whatever is called for to ensure that you have more of what you want and less of what you don’t. Finding out what you want for yourself and/or your business is our first task together. I help you distinguish between what you think you have to do and what you need to do to accomplish it. The first, and most critical, step is helping you define what you want for yourself. Once you create the ideal goal, we will set a clear intention and a course of action to reach it.

You know you can make and keep more money, so why don’t you? I’ll help you increase your business, fill your practice, pay off old bills and set up a financial plan.

When you have a partner you can trust, you will always reach for more because you can afford it. Just talking about your options with someone who knows how to listen is often enough to become very clear. You will always get my honest and constructive views and together I will support you in creating the professional and personal life you have always wanted.

    Coaching Techniques
Coaching for individuals consists of one-on-one confidential coaching sessions conducted either in person or on the phone. Most coaching sessions last approximately 60 minutes each and, typically, the coaching relationship with you starts with a three- to six-month commitment for two to three sessions per month. Fees include the coaching materials and other information given to you, both when the coaching relationship begins and as you make progress towards the goals you’ve identified. You will also receive additional support through faxes, e-mails, and via phone outside of the coaching sessions, when needed.
